We wake every morning wondering if we are still dreaming, everyone is so friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed and the location is quiet, we have yet to hear a siren!! The only things missing are an off-leash dog park and RV parking, hopefully these will come very soon

We loved this community from our first three day visit to the villas. We were looking for a warm weather hangout to get away from Midwest winter and spent time in several different locations. Festival had such a warm friendly feeling right away. We have made fast friends here in a very short time, meeting them through hiking club, card club, one time events, at a great church just across the street, and of course, just hanging around the pool, the rec center and the neighborhood. After one year of renting a house for three months, we were certain we wanted to be able to come back to Festival every winter so purchased a home. We are snowbirds still because we have so many family ties in our home state but we spend more time here each year. It's a great place to come home to!

Our experiences since moving to Sun City Festival in 2008 have all been positive. What a wonderful place to retire to!! It's like living in a resort with all the amenities and activities we have. Pulte/Del Webb has been very supportive of our HOA.

We enjoy all the amenities and activities, but the Recreation Center needs to be much larger. Not enough room for dances and card games are outgrowing their space too!

This community used to feel like living in a 5 star resort. Over the last two years, the look and feel of the neighborhoods have really deteriorated. In part, we chose this community because it had covenants to maintain a natural yet cared for aesthetic within the community. Those haven't been enforced in residential areas and it shows. Most of the pool rules also aren't enforced so it can seem a lot like the pool at a Motel 6 instead of the Ritz like it once was. The gym equipment is showing its age as well. At least the overall community grounds are well maintained and the facilities themselves are beautiful. Activities are plentiful whether you enjoy group events or individual pursuits. The new floor plans are great but it's a shame they discontinued the ranch elevation as it lent some variety to the neighborhoods.

From Torrance to Canyon Trail

The neighbors and friends that we have met are the best part of SCF. Everyone is here to meet people and have a good time. We have gotten so much helpful advice that has made settling in so much easier. While we enjoy the size of the community currently we do look forward to the growth and even more amenities to come with it.

I love living here. If you are bored then there is something wrong! Very quiet and safe community. I love the workout facility and the pool. I wouldn't change a thing!

We have found a "family" of friends here. We are constantly busy with any number of activities, and interests. Love the pool, gym, and community center, it feels like living at a resort, except I have to clean my own house!!! We would truly recommend Sun City Festival to anyone who wants to be part of a great friendly, active community.

We were one of the first 200 residence and had some apprehension when we moved here in December of 2006, but after 6 years I can truly say you may be hard pressed to get me out of here. Love it and some of the friends we have made makes Festival a very enjoyble place to hang our hat.

SCF Buckeye AZ 2/26/2013

SCF is somewhat isolated from town. For us this is great. There are no traffic issues. Hiking or biking in the desert is in walking distance. The community is not crowded so there is always plenty of room in the fitness center or the pool.

I often read that an active adult community can be like living in a resort, staying on a cruse ship. I know first hand that is how I feel living daily at Sun City Festival. So much to do to keep your calendar full. Pickle ball, ping pong, bocce ball, swimming laps keeps me fit while attending computer classes on site with the ASU program keeps the mind strong as well. What a friendly community to live in. The models we chose from have been replaced by new ones. Many residents have sold their homes to by the new models. This says a lot when one sells their home only to live within the same community and not want to leave it. I have referred several co-workers to this community and two sold their CA homes and live here full time as well. I visited 10 developments made by 4 different builders. I am glad I choose to buy and live at Sun City Festival.

We just finished building a new home in SSF with Pulte/Del Web and although we initially had a few challenges, we are very pleased with our new home. From the start, our sales consultant was attentive to every detail and helped us through the building process from start to finish. He was supportive, answered all our questions, addressed any concerns we had and made sure we were 100% satisfied with our new home. The field manager who oversaw the construction process, was also a pleasure to work with. He communicated with us on a regular basis and addressed every issue we had in a courteous, professional and timely manner. SSF has a great golf course, amazing facilities, a long list of activities and amenities and some of the friendliest people you will find anywhere. We looked all over the Phoenix area for a place to build our retirement home and we could not be happier than with the choice we made! We love our new home and look forward to many enjoyable years in this beautiful community!

After making the decision to retire to Arizona, we spent a great deal of time searching the internet for communities. After narrowing down the many possibilities, we traveled here to personally visit a number of places. In general, all of the places we visited were really nice, but when we came to Sun City Festival, we knew almost right away that it was THE place. What sold us? Well, the community itself - it's beautiful. The amenities and facilities are great. The home designs provide enough choices that you'll be hard-pressed to not find something you like. The prices are reasonable. Activities? Well, there are lots of things going on; you can stay as busy as you want to. But what REALLY sold us? It's the people here. Everybody is so nice. Everybody is friendly. If you're an old grouch or if you're a fun-hater, I guarantee that you'll feel out of place here. Have we had second thoughts or regrets about moving to SCF? Do we wonder if another community would have been better for us? Nope. Our sales rep, Ken Plonski, provided great help through the buying process. He's friendly, he's a good guy, and importantly, we found him to be professional; we didn't need to have our BS detectors running. Our only beef with Ken is that he wasn't able to make us really understand how much we'd actually enjoy living here. Does SCF have any issues or problems? Sure. Find a community that doesn't have its issues or glitches. You can't find such a place. But, in my opinion, management responds promptly and fairly to issues that come up. If you decide to build new, be realistic and expect a few snags. It's part of the process. However, you should also expect the builder to promptly address and resolve any problems or issues. In our experience, Pulte has delivered on this. There are a lot of nice active adult communities to choose from, and each has its own unique personality. A move like this is a major decision, and you should check out other place

I'm very disappointed that we really don't have all the amenities that the original Del Webb communities have. I do however love the area & all the wonderful people I have met here! I also don't like the fact that there is a family community attached to ours. I didn't realize that they would be in our community . I would not have bought my home if I had known that. I love where our community is. It's very beautiful ! I just wish this community was owned by Del Webb & that Puelte had followed the Del Webb structure as far as what should be in our community.

love my pets

I love that it's an extremely friendly community - I don't like that we were promised a pet park when we purchased our home, but now when the club tries to pursue it, we can't even get a commitment that we'll have one in the future. Pet parks are a huge part of our lives and there are a large number of pets here with no where to let them run free and socialize.

Purchased the home 6 years ago as my retirement home. Due to issues beyond my control I was not able to move in for go until 1 year ago. The home,the features, and activities have always been top notch. We love it here and have many new friends to do things with.

I did'nt think I was old enough because I'm 12 years younger then my husband.I love this life.A day in this life is going to the gym,playing cards with friends.Talking on the phone never knew so many people in my life.wish I moved here 10 years ago.This is what life is about.

.Moving in went very smoothly. .I enjoy all the things there are to do. .Wish someone had told me that fences could be put on lot lines even when the shared back lot line of a neighbors goes 10' onto my back lot line so I have a fence! It looks horrible and there is nothing I can do about it!!!! Side lot lines should all be the same so this does not happen!

HOA fees keep rising--too high! Need to keep Clubhouse, Fitness Facilities and Pool, etc. areas cleaner, especially front entrancies cleaner and more actractive.

PULTE WENT CHEAP ON THE CLUB BUILDINGS/ROOMS COMPARED TO OTHER DEL WEBB COMMUNITIES. NOT ENOUGH ROOMS, TOO HARD TO SCHEDULE, ETC. MANAGEMENT SAYS "NO' TO ABOUT EVERYTHING, THEN HAS TO BE PROVEN WRONG. YOU BUILT A WOODWORKING SHOP AT $1MIL AND NO ONE USES IT, EXCEPT FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS OUT OF THE YEAR. YOU WON'T PUT IN SECURITY TO KNOW WHO COMES AND USES IT BECAUSE YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW. NOW PULTE IS CHANGING THE FLOOR PLANS SO THE 1,500 THAT ARE BUILT WILL BE "OLD". THANKS A LOT.

Active, yes. Adult? Maybe not!

Sun City Festival, Buckeye, AZ 2/25/2013

Great place to meet active, competant, engaging newly-retireds, many in their late 60's-early 70's, because it is a quite new community with many arriving each year. So far there are few if any "cliques": just about everybody seems to genuinely welcome you. People get to know their new neighbors quite quickly, and then to start socializing with many of them. And Pulte does a very creditable job of trying to satisfy all buyers. There's a reason they're successful (or, maybe many reasons). We're always very happy to get back here from the north each fall, even though we leave family and friends there for the winter.

This would be a superior five star community but the main streets too small, restaurant / bar is too small, and celebration social hall is too small. Driving a golf cart or bicycle down the main streets is very dangerous. Del Webb needed to have a marked lane for carts and bicycles . It would be safer if they allowed bicycles on sidewalks but they don't .

Extremely friendly, active people make all the difference! Facilities make us feel as if we are living full time in an upscale resort. Located away from Phoenix and other commercial areas where it's quiet. Wonderful golf course maintained better that most within the Phoenix area. Haven't seen a downside to this community yet.

We absolutely love it here at Sun City Festival. This development has attracted some of the most fun, interesting people. We were first attracted to the development by the golf course, which has not disappointed. In addition, we enjoy the access to the desert with our side by side dune buggy, the quiet in the evenings that are only offered in an area away from the city. And most of all, the people. In a short time we had developed more friends here than we ever have in any other place we have lived.

The club Houses and fitness facilities are TOO crowded when the snowbirds are here. Beautiful surroundings - Younger group of retirees to socialize with. If you can't find something to do at SCF then you will never find it anywhere else.

I never thought I would be one to move into a "retirement" community but once I set foot in Sun City Festival I was hooked. The people I encountered, from staff to residents were so warm and friendly. When looking around I found everyone to be so active and even on the younger side of "retirement"! The only thing that would make life here perfect are a few more outside amenities, like a grocery store and maybe a few eateries. As it stands now, it's a 15 mile ride into town. The upside is that it's peaceful and quiet out here - our own little Nirvana!!

We moved to sun city festival from the northeast. We have found paradise. The community of people and activities seem like we are in a five star resort daily. The friendliness of our residents make living here a wonderful experience so different from the east coast. All residents are proud of their community and volunteer to make a social academic and caring effort toward their residences. I am very happy and proud to call sun city festival my home.

The people that work there from the sales office,golfclub,restaurant,bar are always helpful, friendly and cheerful. I have met some interesting neighbors and always feel right at home. Nobody told me that Festival was so well liked that a LOT of buyers sell so that they can buy a bigger house in Festival. I personally know 5 that have done it and 3 thinking about it. Good things sell themselves.

A community of people who are fun and full of life. So many different type of activities that there is something for everyone. Spectacular sunsets and amazing star sightings. A wonderful place to live.

Seems to be a sense of rushing to finish homes resulting in workmanship flaws that require several returns to fix. More attention to detail in the finished home needs to be stressed. Quality of interior paint needs to be improved.

In our community we have a new life experience. You can try new things you never thought you would do to all the clubs that are offered. Boredem is not an option......... Social activities and friends are priceless. All walks of life come together to find out we are all share the same common life experiences. All new comers have the reserve feeling until they break out and put their toes in the water to enjoy the full experiece that Del Webb has to offer.

Love love love it here! So many activities, so many people who moved here to be active and enjoy life! Each person is encouraged to chase THEIR interests, and if some of theirs cross with some of yours you make another friend! It's more fun to have varied interests and personalities to socialize with, and the vast majority of residents seem positive, friendly, and happy.! We have been here less than two years and we golf, hike, play pickleball, walk, use fitness equipment and take ASU classes, swim, have taken water aerobics and tai chi, and learned to play poker and ma jong. We've attended concerts, movies, and karaoke sessions and tried bocce ball. So easy to make friends! Just wish there were more hours in the day. There are so many more things we want to try!

Living in SSF has been a life-changing event. We absolutely love living here--from our neighbors to the amenities to the appearance of the community itself. There is never a dull moment, and a decision that was made quickly to move here, has turned out to be one of the best we have made in 48 years of marriage.

Not a happy camper

Sun City Festival Buckeye AZ 9/26/2012

Exercise class room (only 1) and the Celebration Hall is way to small for this size of community. If you don't get to your exercise class at least a 1/2 an hour early in the fall & winter you're turned away because it's full. What happens when we get another 1000 homes here? If you don't RSVP for events held in the Celebration Hall immediately, it fills up to capacity and you don't get to go, again what happens when there is another 1000 homes built????

My Wife and I have met so many new friends through pickleball, social dance, golf, bocce as well as at community events like the regular movie nights, happy hour, star gazing, pot luck dinners, neighborhood parties, etc.

This community offers a wide variety of activities. Unfortunately, the facilities and golf course are overcrowded in the winter months when "snowbirds" are here. Also, this community is located 12 miles away from any significant retail or medical facilities.

Having moved here from another Del Webb, I can't help but compare. The residents at Festival are MUCH friendlier, and the staff is much friendlier and responsive. I absolutely love it here so far after being here only 8 weeks!
